What I Want For Spring - Lots of PINK from Kate Spade!

I have a love / hate relationship with the color pink. Depending upon my mood my wardrobe choices range from rocker chick utilitarian -- think leather, studs, skinnies, and smokey eyes in a palette of light grey to midnight black -- to girly girl glam confections replete with ruffles, bows, and pearls.

This sartorial dichotomy is not lost on me. But with visions of Spring on my weary wintered-out mind I am craving color: from the pale, creamy shades of pastel macaroons to brilliant shades of neon ice pops -- gimme some of that.

Enter Kate Spade.

No surprise her Spring 2012 collection is filled with the retro preppy chic that Kate dishes out so well, but I was pleased to see a couple of new additions thrown into the mix: namely the Broome Street skinny jean in shocking pink (You mean I can be a girly rocker? Problem solved!), along with a bright pink lip: the wonderfully named Supercalifragilipstick! Pop Art Pink , the result of her collaboration with the one and only Lipstick Queen Poppy.

As for my other picks? The Siren Dress screams Oscar de la Renta but at a much easier on your wallet price point. Meanwhile, I'd pair the Stargazer Pant with a silky red top and chunky necklace, The Mariel Top with a black pencil skirt and peep toe pumps for work, and finally, for those days when I'm feeling a wee bit naughty librarian, I'd pop on the Jodie specs, featuring just a whisper of soft pink under it's tortoise-shell frame.
